Kastriot – Gramë Pasture Trail

This challenging trail starts at Chestnut Hill (Kodrat e Gështenjës) in the village of Kastriot and takes you through rugged mountain terrain before reaching Gramë Pasture.

The first 1.5 hours of the hike are easy, but as you ascend towards the Ladder of Rrafmanë (Shkalla e Rrafmanës), the difficulty increases. Along the way, hikers can enjoy stunning views of White Mountain and the famous Gramë’s Mirror, a rockface made of selenium that shimmers under the sun.

Starting in Sohodoll Village, this trail takes you through some of Dibra’s most historic and scenic locations before reaching Gramë Pasture.

Early in the hike, you’ll pass the Reshit Zuna Tower, a 19th-century stone residence, and the ruins of Voles Castle in Vrenjt. The trail then ascends towards the Shllinasi rocky cliffs, a natural salt formation where mountain goats often gather.

As you continue, you’ll reach Ladies Pasture (Livadhi i Grave) at 2300m altitude, offering panoramic views of Peshkopi, the Curative Valley, and Mount Korab. The final stretch of the trail leads to Gramë Lake, an alpine glacial lake with crystal-clear waters.

The trail is ideal for adventurous hikers looking for a shorter but scenic route through the Korab Mountains.
